Manchester United is Reportedly Interested in the Portuguese Defender

Manchester United has a significant injury problem this season, especially in defense. Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw, Malacia, A.W Bissaka, and Harry Maguire all became injured simultaneously, and there needs to be more bench strength in the defense.

To counter this problem, the Premier League giant is reportedly interested in signing Portuguese defender Goncalo Inacio from Sporting CP. Goncalo is a highly rated and versatile defender who can play as a center-back as well as a left-back.

Inacio is very capable of controlling the game and creating line-breaking passes. He often has 100+ touches in a 90-minute game which shows how involved he is in the game. It is reported that United will go for Inacio in the January transfer window.

According to Sun Sports, Manchester United has sent a scout to Lisbon to monitor the 22-year-old Portuguese defender ahead of the January transfer window. It is reported that the scout will watch Inacio in person at least three times a month.

However, Inacio has signed a recent deal with Sporting CP but Manchester United can trigger the release clause if United pays €60 million for the highly rated Portuguese defender.
