Former Leeds United Midfielder Called Everyday to the Spanish Club Before His Transfer

Spanish club Real Betis’ director Ramon Planes informed that Marc Roca called him every day this summer to facilitate his transfer move to Real Betis.

The 26-year-old Spanish midfielder ended up with the Spanish club on a loan move due to a clause in his contract that could be triggered if Leeds United faces relegation.

Marc moved to Leeds last summer and failed to create an impression to get a chance in the first team.

In an interview with Marca, Ramon said that Roca was desperate to move to Betis and that is the reason Roca called him every day.

The director promised him that they were going to do it but the promise was not enough to give Roca confidence about his move.

Ramon is also positive about the future contribution of Roca to the club. He said Roca is an impressive talent. As the season is long, he will help Betis to improve the bench strength as well and he can provide much more when the season goes forward.

The Leeds manager, Daniel Farke, already made it clear that he doesn’t want anyone in the team who doesn’t want to play for them.

As Roca was connected with the Betis director daily, it shows he is not interested in playing for the relegated team anymore.

Nevertheless, the Spanish midfielder was not a really special player for ‘The Peacocks’, as he failed to prove his spot in the squad since his move to Leeds last summer.

He often struggled to cope with the fast pace of the English Premier League, which forced Daniel to look out for other possible options.

After his exit, Leeds has signed midfielders like Ethan Ampadu, Glen Kamara, and Ilia Gruev, who always wanted to play for the club- even after being relegated. These kinds of players give Daniel Farke the flexibility to build a strong team.
