Irish actor Michael Gambon or Harry Potter’s Dumbledore has passed away at the age of 82. His publicist has informed us that Michael took his last breath in the hospital while his wife Anne and son Fergus were sitting beside him.
Michael is known for his role as Albus Dumbledore in the Harry Potter movie following the death of Richard Harris. Michael took the role to a different level. In 2009, in an interview with the LA Times, he said he didn’t read the Harry Potter books as he completely trusted the director.
Michael Gambon was born in Ireland back in 1940. He started his acting career at a very young age. He worked in theater until he received an offer from Laurence Olivier to join the National Theatre’s first production, Hamlet. He won several awards for his performance on stage.
He became popular when BBC signed him for The Singing Detective. This role gave him his first BAFTA award. He was knighted in 1998.
Besides Dumbledore, he played a variety of roles like Paddington, Hail, Caesar! Even he played a role in J.K Rowling’s novel The Casual Vacancy.
Michael was very straightforward. He was an admirer of J.K. Rowling. But in an interview, he revealed that he didn’t work in Harry Potter because of Rowling but he needed money.
