One Piece breaks all records on Rotten Tomatoes

Netflix’s One Piece adaptions have received a huge welcome and audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. This breaks all the records of previous anime adaptions by Netflix.

The show is based on Eiichiro Oda’s popular manga which was later successfully converted into an anime series by Toei Animation. The base of the show lies on the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy (Iñaki Godoy) and his pirate crew. The pirate crew is searching for the legendary treasure of Golden Rodger ‘One Piece’, which can promote Monkey D. Luffy as the greatest pirate captain of all time.

The show was even praised by critics and earned an 81% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes. More interestingly, the fans loved the show even more and among almost 2500 votes, the show scored a huge 94% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.

This achievement helps Netflix break the curse of disappointing the fans when it comes to anime adaptions. Previously, Netflix tried to launch anime adaptions like Fullmetal Alchemist, Death Note, and Cowboy Bebop but they failed miserably to earn a space in the hearts of anime lovers.

One of the major reasons behind the success of One Piece is the adaption is very loyal and does not divert much from the source and this helps the series to attract existing anime fans as well as new ones.

One Piece not only broke all the records but also created a huge expectation among the fans for future anime adaptions which can be a huge challenge for Netflix. Although there is no confirmation about the second season, the huge popularity indicates there should be a second season in the future.
