Pakistan vs India: How to Watch, Team News and Preview

Hosts Pakistan will play against their arch rivals Team India in their second group stage match in the Asia Cup 2023 at Pallekele Stadium in Kandy. 

Babar Azam’s army started their journey in the Asia Cup by overshadowing Nepal by 238 runs in Multanon Wednesday. A win against India has always been special for Pakistan and it will also pave the way for them to book a seat in the Super 4 stage of the Asia Cup.

The long-standing rivalry with Team India always attracts eyes around the world and the match will be full of excitement. Nowadays the number of matches between India and Pakistan is declining but it always gives the fans huge sensation.

On the contrary, Rohit Sharma led team India will play their first match in the Asia Cup against their formidable rival Pakistan. The first match against a strong opponent is never an easy fixture in any tournament but the previous head-to-head record is supporting India in this case.

India has won the last four out of five matches against Pakistan in One Day International matches. The one loss came when Team India faced Pakistan in ICC Champions Trophy 2017 final.

Historically Pakistan has an edge over India as the Men in Green has won 73 matches while Men in Blue finished 55 matches on top. But in the current scenario, Men in Blue seems to be stronger than Pakistan. It is worth mentioning, that anything can happen when you are playing against your arch-rivals in a competition.

However, Pakistan is the top-ranked ODI team in the world of cricket right now. India can’t take the no.1 team in the world lightly. This is the first match between the two since 2019.

Pakistan have already announced their playing 11 while team India has to explore their best 11 as some of the top players returned.
