Selena Gomez just unveiled her new music video “Single Soon” produced by Benny Blanco and Cashmere Cat. Although, Selena introduced the single on Instagram earlier this month. There were many speculations that the song is dedicated to Selena’s ex-boyfriend The Weekend whom she dated back in 2017.
The 31-year-old singer replied to a post by Hollywoodlife about the rumors. In that post, she commented “Couldn’t be more false” and shutting down the story.
The Weekend and Selena Gomez were in a short relationship for 10 months just after Selena broke up with her ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber and The Weekend Separated with Bella Hadid. The couple was spotted on a dinner date in January 2017 and confirmed their relationship later that month.
The couple separated after 10 months and Selena revealed how they remained friends even after their relationship was called off. After that, she re-engaged with Justin Bieber again till March 2018. But after the break-up with Justin, she decided to keep her relationship secret. Although she linked with popular figures like Drew Taggart and Zayn Malik when she was spotted on a dinner date.
According to her, “Single Soon” is a song that describes self-empowerment rather than her relationship status. She also thanked her fans due to the love and support she received from the fans after releasing the track.
