Real Madrid’s midfielder doesn’t know how to stop Lionel Messi

Star midfielder of Real Madrid and Uruguay Fede Valverde believes that Lionel Messi is unstoppable at 36 years of age and he has no idea about how to stop him.

Uruguay is about to face Argentina on 16th November for the World Cup qualifiers. Prior to the match, La Celeste captain Fede Valverde admitted that it is almost impossible to stop La Albiceleste captain Lionel Messi despite Messi havingn’t played any competitive match neither for Argentina nor for Inter-Miami for a month. 

Currently, Uruguay is second in the Conmebol World Cup 2026 qualifiers table, five points behind Argentina. In their previous fixture, Marcelo Bielsa’s side managed to destroy Brazil by 2-0. 

What did Valverde say about Messi?

In a pre-match interview, Fede Valverde said he had no idea how to slow down Messi when they both played in La Liga and after 3 years, he still hasn’t the answer. According to Uruguay’s captain, “He is one of the best players in the world.”
