Back in July 2023, a video went viral on the internet that Lana Del Rey, an American singer-songwriter, wearing Waffle House’s uniform and serving the customers. The fans were very surprised that the celebrity accepted a job in Waffle House, in Florence, Alabama.
Lana revealed in an interview with Hollywood Reporter that she had spent several hours in a local Waffle House along with her brother and sister before she got the job. In the third hour, the servers asked them if they wanted Waffle House’s shirt or not. Lana accepted the offer enthusiastically.
After wearing the famous blue uniform, she quickly took a few selfies and then ran to take orders from customers. She remembered that she served a regular client who just wanted a Coke with no ice and an empty cup for the dip. But Lana can’t remember if someone took her video.
Lana Del Rey described the journey as a ‘wholesome journey’. But the news broke out as the fans shot videos, took pictures, and uploaded them on social media. The clips and images were spread on social media like wildfire.
The next day, the 38-year-old singer woke up the next morning with plenty of messages. Even people, who hadn’t connected to her for the last 10 years, also messaged her after watching Waffle House photos. She also wished that her new album had gone viral after such hard work.
She also showed gratitude to young artists like Billie Eilish and Olivia Rodrigo as they credited Lana as an inspiration. Lana also added Billie and Olivia are great singers and people. She always feels like an older sister whenever she meets them.
Lana Del Rey released her album Did you know that there’s a tunnel under Ocean Blvd, in March. But it is definitely true that Lana loved her new experience as a waitress. Such kind of activity not only boosts her popularity but also gives a different perspective on life.
