January Transfer Window will be Challenging for Newcastle United’s Boss Eddie Howe

The summer transfer window was quite difficult for the magpies but it is assumed that the winter transfer window will be harder.

It is reported that the scouting team has already started preparation for the 2024 January window. Senior scout Mike Tate was a spectator in the stands at Hampden Park when England thrashed Scotland by 3-1. It can be assumed that Mike was there to follow Scott McTominay, Ryan Porteous, and others closely ahead of the winter transfer window.

However, Eddie got the players he wanted but it took weeks of negotiation with players like Tino Livramento and Lewis Hall. Newcastle managed to sign only Sandro Tonali from A.C Milan and Harvey Barnes from Leicester City during the pre-season.

Howe also accepted that the coming transfer window will even be harder than the previous one. Obviously, a transfer requires months of planning and negotiations nowadays, it is not possible in a few hours or days.

Eddie thanked Dan Ashworth, Amanda, and Mehrdad for the recruitment. Eddie also explained his philosophy that if he thinks a player is right and suitable for the team, it is worth fighting for him.

Eddie always loves to bring players who have similar values and vision as the entire squad believes. Of course, if a player is not satisfied with the team’s vision or the playing style it’ll have a negative effect on the entire squad. We have previously seen examples when Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola had a clash with Joao Cancelo.

While explaining his philosophy, Eddie revealed he always analyzes the player’s character more than his footballing ability. It is due to Eddie’s belief that he can bring the best out of the player if he fits in Newcastle’s system.
