Sylvester Sackey, the 26-year-old goalkeeper from Ghana recently passed away after battling a short illness. He was the first-choice goalkeeper for the club throughout the 2022-23 season and died on Tuesday, September 12, 2023.
An official tween from the club has confirmed his death and described it as a big blow to the club and its members.
Sylvester Sackey has been attached to the club for the last four years. He played a total of 31 matches for the club and has an impressive 12 clean sheet on his name.

In the last season (2022-23), he played 19 matches for the club where he kept 7 clean sheets and conceded only 20 goals.
Sylvester played his last match for the club on June 11, 2023, against FC Samartex in which Legon Cities won by a 3-2 scoreline.
Meanwhile, Ghana Premier League giants Hearts of Oak also expressed their condolences to Legon Cities and family members of Sylvester Sackey through social media.
