Facts You Should Know Before Watching Thalapathy Vijay’s “Leo”: “Leo” vs. “Jawan” Comparison

Much-awaited Thalapathy Vijay’s latest film “Leo” will hit the theaters tomorrow across the world. The film already beaten the previous blockbuster movie of the year “Jawan” in a few aspects. Here are a few aspects that we share with the fans so they can be ready for the film.

Facts About Thalapathy Vijay’s “Leo”:

Following the blockbuster success of “Master” in 2021, Thalapathy Vijay again collaborated with director Lokesh Kanagaraja for “Leo”. However, there is a little bad news regarding Leo as many people and political leaders are protesting against the film, seems it is not enough to hurt the box office collection. With Lokesh Kanagaraja’s direction, Vijay will play the dual role of a ruthless gang leader (Leo Das) and a peace-loving family man (Parthi). Both characters are completely different. Thus, this project was very challenging for Thalapathy.

Anirudh Ravichander will control the department of music. It is Anirudh’s fourth and third collaboration with Vijay and Lokesh Kanagaraja respectively. The movie has four songs: Bloody Sweet, Naa Ready, Badass, and Anbenum, and all of them are composed by Anirudh.

Manoj Paramahamsa, the cinematographer of Leo, has collaborated with Vijay for the third time after “Nanbun” and “Beast” to promise another visually stunning experience enhanced by the use of technically advanced cameras and setup.

“Leo” is the first film of Vijay to be released on IMAX screens to ensure a heightened visual experience. With an initial budget of 350 crore, the film has already generated 400 crore from its pre-release businesses.

“Leo” has received U/A certification, which means it may not be appropriate for children who are below 12 years of age. The 2 hours and 39 minutes long action-packed film promised to deliver entertainment to all generations of audiences. The success of director Lokesh Kanagaraja’s previous four films enlarged the expectations and it makes “Leo” one of the most-anticipated films in 2023.

With a massive release planned for over 20,000 screens across the globe, “Leo” is determined to break all the previous records. Hopefully, the film surpasses all the expectations of the fans. It is not impossible as “Leo” has already broken a few records of Shah Rukh Khan’s blockbuster movie “Jawan”.

“Leo” vs. “Jawan”:

Thalapathy’s “Leo” has already sold more than 16 lakh tickets in advance. Shah Rukh Khan’s “Jawan” had an advance booking of 15.75 lakh tickets on its opening days. “Leo” has advance booking of 13.75 lakh tickets only for the Tamil version.

Despite selling more tickets, the gross income of Leo is less than Jawan’s due to the low average price of tickets. Jawan earned Rs.41 crore from advance booking whereas Leo generated only Rs.31 crore.

Thalapathy Vijay’s Leo will beat Jawan in the United States of America as well. In the USA, Leo managed to get 1755 shows on its first day whereas Jawan managed to get 1600 shows.
