Chelsea Transfer News: Palmer, Fati, and Many More

Chelsea has conducted a great summer transfer business. After the departure of players like Mason Mount, Marc Cucurella, and Romelo Lukaku, Chelsea is set to sign promising talents like Jamal Musiala, Emile Smith Rowe, Ansu Fati, and Cole Palmer.

Chelsea aimed to sign Manchester City talent Cole Palmer with a bid of £35 million and made it a top priority for the club according to the Evening Standard.  Manchester City demanded £50 million but somewhere a negotiation can be reached around £45 million. Chelsea Coach Mauricio Pochettino is keen to sign young top talents in the attacking lineups to strengthen the goal-scoring ability which was ineffective last season.

According to Daily Mail, a few clubs like West Ham, Burnley, and Dortmund are keen to sign Chelsea’s left-back 21-year-old Ian Maatsen who also plays for the Netherlands National Team.  The transfer rumor is unlikely to happen after Cucurella’s loan move to Manchester United.

Fabrizio Romano reported that Chelsea and Tottenham entered a race to sign Barcelona star Ansu Fati in the last few days of the transfer window. The signing could be a great option if the Cole Palmer deal doesn’t take place. After the departure of Kai Havartz, Ansu Fati can play the role that Havartz used to play in his prime Chelsea days. Also, Fati can play as a left winger, attacking midfielder, and proper striker which can give Pochettino space to apply tactical changes in crucial games.

It is also rumored that Chelsea is keen to sign Emile Smith Rowe from Arsenal. After a fabulous season in 2021, the player didn’t get enough game time in the previous season. After the arrival of Kai Havartz it is unlikely for Rowe to get much game time in Gunners jersey. Although Reece James already gave a hint that Pochettino could go to the dynamic attacking midfielder this summer.

It was rumored that Pochettino also wants to sign Bayern Munich wonderkid Jamal Musiala. But the price of Musiala is sky high, around £95 million and Bayern Munich is unlikely to sell such top young talent as they included Harry Kane in the squad. Jamal Musiala could be an outstanding signing for Chelsea but it is unlikely to happen.
