It is very hard to believe that the Lord Jesus visited places thousands of years ago and is still available today and interestingly you can visit them and experience their value.
“Route 60: The Biblical Highway” is such a documentary that will help you to experience a literal and figurative journey that leads you to a deeper connection with the transcendent and divine.
The movie stars two powerful American former diplomats, who helped to shape the modern Holy Land: former Secretary of State and CIA Director Mike Pompeo, an evangelical Christian, and former US Ambassador David Friedman, an orthodox Jew under the Trump administration.
The movie starts with Pompeo and Friedman traveling together in a convoy of black SUVs down Route 60 which runs between Israel and Palestine and exists in an old transportation corridor.
The 146-mile-long road is also known as the ‘Way of the Patriarchs’ for its biblical history. It starts in Jesus’s hometown Nazareth and ends in Beersheba. The majority of the road runs through the Palestinian-occupied West Bank.
The movie premiered on 12 September at the Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C. Pompeo shared his thoughts after the premier, saying Christians and Jews need to learn a lot from Friedman’s commentary in the movie. The commentary helped Pompeo to understand the Bible and the events depicted in the scripture more realistically.
