An original sci-fi movie has no relation with any previously created intellectual property. The creator will show you a hot war between humans and artificial intelligence. John David Washington who played the role of Joshua was an ex-army man, returned to his new mission when his painful past forced him to do so. He crossed his path with an AI robot portrayed by Madeleine Yuna Voyles.
‘The Creator’ is shown as the king of a dark world. His entry in the movie quickly set up the stage for a conflict. The plot is dense, full of twists and turns, and seems like a trilogy is combined in one movie.
As a result, due to a lack of time to build the characters, you may not find any emotional attachment with the characters. Madeleine Yuna Voyles (Alphie) and Washington are among the standout performers. John David Washington was a complex but likable character in the movie. He was always underrated despite of powerful performances in movies like TENET.
Washington carried the film on his back alongside Voyles who also played a very important and effective role in the movie. She elevates every scene that she is a part of with her genuine emotions and acting skills. Despite being only 9 years old, her performance was beyond expectations.
The emotional chemistry between Joshua and Alphie is worth watching. The emotional attachment between the duo helps to create the core of the film. Supporting performances from Allison Janney, Ken Watanabe, Veronica Ngo, Gemma Chan, and others are also recognizable.
The film didn’t try to explore many ground-breaking scientific theories. Instead, it focuses on creating a storyline that revolves around the characters. If you like sci-fi movies and you are interested in finding out what problems artificial intelligence can create in the future you can check this movie out.
